Wodonga’s new Community / Youth Space needs a name. Are you up to the challenge?
Wodonga’s Youth Space (formerly Cafe Grove, 198A High Street, Wodonga) will open soon and it needs a name.
If you’re aged 12 to 24 and live, work or study in Wodonga, you can enter.
Got more than one idea for a name? Submit multiple entries.
Nominations will close on July 21, and the winning entry will be selected by a judging panel based on creativity, originality and relevance to the purpose of the Youth Space.
The winner lands a prize valued at $300 and will be announced at the official launch of the space, as well as having the honour of seeing their chosen name displayed prominently at the Youth Space in Wodonga’s High Street.
About the space:
198A High Street was purchased by Junction Support Services in response to significant feedback that young people had nowhere to go that was safe, fun and accessible.
Junction is passionate about supporting and investing in our community and purchased the building in the heart of Wodonga that will become a community youth space and a social enterprise café.
The space has been co-designed with the Youth of 3690 (YO3690) youth committee.
Use of the space:
The space will be open after school hours for young people 18 and under. It will be:
- Vibrant,
- A connection point for young people,
- Have diverse activities (chill outs, craft, music, gaming, sport etc),
- A safe place
- Low cost / free
- Meeting space
- Provide food, including dinner
- Provide an access point for support if required.
- Run for youth by youth and youth specialists.
The space will host regular youth events and later become a social enterprise café that will help young people build skills.
