Junction Support Services chose our social enterprise, Close Collective Cafe, to launch the 2024 Annual Christmas Drive to help Border children and families facing personal and financial challenges.
Businesses and communities across the Border and North East are encouraged to donate new, unwrapped gifts at one of the many community drop-off points across Wodonga and Albury.
“Every year, we are amazed by the generosity of Border businesses and families who contribute to Junction’s Annual Christmas Drive,” says Junction’s Christmas Drive coordinator Annie Shirley.
“We are supporting more children and families than ever and new, unwrapped gifts for children of all ages up to older teenagers will help keep the joy of Christmas alive.
“We know these community gifts have such a positive impact.”
Junction staff will distribute the gifts to families and children support who would otherwise miss out this Christmas.
In the past financial year, Junction assisted more than 3700 children, adults and families seeking support.
“Thanks to the community’s generosity last year, 450 children and families benefitted from Junction’s Annual Christmas Drive,” says Junction CEO Megan Hanley.
“The rising cost of living is forcing many families to the brink of crisis for the first time, making this year’s Annual Christmas Drive more important than ever.”
Erin Glass runs The Klinic Pilates and Physiotherapy and is a passionate Annual Christmas Drive supporter.
“I have always loved giving presents, and supporting Junction Support Services’ Annual Christmas Drive allows me to help more local children wake up to a gift on Christmas morning,” says Ms Glass.
“The Klinic team is honoured to be part of this valuable community initiative to ensure every child feels special on Christmas Day, regardless of their personal and family circumstances.”
