Wear It Purple and build a rainbow

We’re proud to have started working towards being an accredited Rainbow Tick organisation and this week celebrated the start of our journey by holding a “Wear It Purple” Day.

The Rainbow Tick is a national accreditation program for organisations that are committed to safe and inclusive practice, and service delivery for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex (LGBTI) people.

Wear it Purple Day is an international movement to foster supportive, safe, empowering and inclusive environments for rainbow young people and show LGBTIQ+ young people that they have the right to be proud of who they are.

Our Wear It Purple event, which was organised by our Rainbow Tick Working Group, attracted the usual passion from our team.

We held an afternoon tea and presentation by our Rainbow Tick Working Group to share what we are doing as an organisation to make sure that everyone who comes through our doors feel safe and included.

The judging panel, made up of staff from non operational teams, gave the chocolates to Specialist Adolescent Services team, pictured below, for its “bad purple minions” theme and team effort.

Thanks to all of our team who never fail to surprise us with their passion and creativity.
