Commonwealth Bank team support local families

Thank you to the Commonwealth Bank team at Wodonga for donating $500 to support local parents and children in crisis due to family violence.

When families flee violence they often leave with nothing but what they are wearing.

That makes it especially hard to change schools and start over.

So, we’ll use the donation to buy school bags, shoes and the basics for families in need.

Thanks to Rachael and Rebecca for visiting our office to deliver the cheque, which was funded by the Commonwealth bank foundation’s Community program, and hearing about why we do the work we do.

Over the next few months, Commonwealth Bank has pledged to donate $500,000 nationally to recognise organisations that make a difference in the communities in which we live and work.

Each Commonwealth Bank branch and customer-facing team has been allocated $500 to donate to causes important to their local community.

Commonwealth Bank’s Wodonga branch team voted to support the great work of Junction.

“We’re very excited to have the opportunity to support the Junction Support Services,” Rachael Holt, Commonwealth Bank Wodonga Branch Manager said.

Our Families and Children’s Team Leader, Colleen Crispe, said the $500 donation would make a significant difference to families in crisis.

“Thank you Commonwealth Bank Wodonga on behalf of all of us at Junction, and the families this donation will assist,” she said.
