Thank you to our wonderful volunteers

Volunteer Pam Roth and Wodonga Mayor Anna Speedie
Our L2P volunteer Pam Roth was named Wodonga Volunteer of the Year (2017) and presented with an award by Wodonga Mayor Anna Speedie

Did you know Junction has about 60 volunteers?

As part of Volunteers Week, 8-14 May, we recognised our volunteers at a special dinner and took part in the Wodonga Volunteers Fair.

One of our L2P driving mentor volunteers, Pam Roth, was named Wodonga Volunteer of the Year at the Fair and received an award from Mayor Anna Speedie.

Our volunteers work in two programs – L2P and Leaving Care Mentoring  –  dedicated to helping local young people achieve their full potential.

L2P matches experienced drivers with local young people who do not have a car or anyone who can teach them to drive to help them get the experience they need to get their P-plates.

Leaving Care volunteers support young people, who have lived in Out of Home Care because they have been unable to live with their families, to make the transition to independent living.

Volunteer mentors assist young people through individual support, advice and guidance.

Our CEO Corienne Krich said: “Thank you to all our volunteers who make a wonderful contribution to Junction and the lives of the young people they work with.”

Special thanks to The Goods Shed for hosting us and providing great customer service regarding some specific dietary requirements.
