We’re excited to have our first stall at the Wodonga Children’s Fair, which will be held on Sunday 29 October, 10am-3pm at Wodonga Racecourse Recreation and Showground Reserve. But we need your help…
We’re seeking donations of empty plastic containers that could be used to hold playdoh for children.
Our team will make playdoh to give to children and also teaching children and parents how to make their own playdoh at home.
But we need recycled plastic containers to hold it in.If you have some plastic containers that would be suitable, please drop them into the Junction Support Services, 155 Melbourne Road, Wodonga. We’re open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
Please note that we cannot use glass jars or containers that have held nuts.
Our Families and Children’s Services Manager Claire Anderson says playing with playdoh is great for children because it helps to develop muscles that are used when learning to write, it helps release stress through their hands and it’s a fun activity to do with parents and carers.
“Our team is looking forward to running some fun activities for children at the fair, including yoga and art and craft,” she says.
“We’ve been working with children across north-east Victoria since 1989 and our Families and Children’s Team is passionate about helping young people achieve their full potential.
“Our team has more than 100 years’ professional experience working with children and families and we look forward to connecting with as many parents and families as we can at the fair.”
Run by the City of Wodonga, the Wodonga Children’s Fair is a free event that attracts up to 16,000 people each year. The fair celebrates families and young people and acknowledges the huge effort that families put into raising children to be active and healthy and make positive contributions to our community’s well-being.
- If you have some empty plastic containers that we can use for playdoh, please drop them into our office at 155 Melbourne Road, Wodonga, during business hours.
