Proud to be awards finalist

Junction Support Services is proud to be a finalist in two categories of the 2018 Albury Wodonga Business Awards – Employer of Choice and for Excellence in Health, Education and Disability.

The recognition in the Health, Education and Disability category, is for Junction’s innovative partnership with the education sector and work right across the organisation in every program to support people to achieve their full potential, particularly programs to support young people to re-engage with education.

The CEO of Junction Support Services, Corienne Krich, credited an increasingly strong and creative partnership with the Department of Education and Training across the region, but particularly through Wodonga Middle Years College and Wodonga Senior Secondary College through wellbeing staff being based at both campuses.

“We also united with Wodonga Middle Years and Senior Secondary Colleges to keep the doors open at Highwater, an alternative school for at-risk young people in Wodonga, when its future was in doubt. That has since evolved into Choice learning and is supporting more students than ever before to re-engage in education. That is the result of hard work by our team, college staff working at Choice and the Department of Education and Training.”

The other nominees for Health, Education and Disability category are:
Albury Wodonga Health Dental Service
Aspire Support Services
Prime Care Dental

The other nominees for Employer of Choice are:
Endota Spa
Family Vet Centre
Harrington Hair
Miss Amelie
The Personnel Group

Junction Support Services Committee of Management Chairperson Sandra Dalton said that for the not-for-profit organisation to be a finalist in two categories was great recognition of the work that had been done by staff in every team across the organisation and by the dedicated Committee of Management over many years.

“As we approach our 30th year it is wonderful to see this kind of recognition for our organisation and the positive contribution we make to the community,” Ms Dalton said.

“The Albury Wodonga Business Awards are a great experience to be part of and I congratulate all the finalists in every category because it is a significant achievement to be recognised in this way.”

The Albury Wodonga Business Awards will be held on Friday 13 July.

Junction Support Services is proud to be a member of Business Wodonga.
