Good Deed Garage supports local young parents

Thank you Good Deed Garage for raising $5000 to support young parents and their infants in the Wodonga area.

The team at Good Deed Garage take tired old motorcycles, recondition the bikes and then raffle them to raise money for charity.

In the most recent Good Deed Garage raffle, a lovingly restored 1971 Honda CB350 raised $10,000. The funds will be split equally between our young parents programs and for Lilydale charity Holy Fools and used to support people experiencing homelessness.

Our Youth Services Manager Katharine Hodgens said it was the most significant donation from the community that our programs to support young parents had ever received.

“We’ll use the funds to support local families who are part of our supporting young parents program or living at our Young Mums Unit because they are experiencing or at risk of homelessness,” Katharine said.

“Our sincere thanks go to Good Deed Garage’s Cliff Overton and locals Mark Riddell, from MLR Custom Coachbuilder, and Dave Payne, from Status Customs.

“Thank you Good Deed Garage for supporting these young parents and their infants, this support will be life changing.”

You can find out more about future raffles on the Good Deed Garage facebook page.
